We are located at the corner of Beaver Avenue and Fraser Street in State College, Pennsylvania. We have many opportunities for worship, education, fellowship, and community service. During the program year our Sunday Worship Services are at 9:00 am and 11:15 am. During the summer months (Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend) we have a single Worship Service at 10:00 am with Coffee Hour immediately following the single service (see above). Sunday worship services are open to all and we invite you to participate.
Sunday School (for children, youth, and adults) and Coffee Hour are held between the Worship Services from 10:00-11:00 am (during the program year). Summer Sunday School meets during the worship service (after the Children's Message) for children aged 4 through those who have completed 2nd grade.

Congregational Meeting Announced to Elect Pastor Nominating Committee
and Changes to SCPC By-Laws -- February 26, 2012 at 10:00 a.m.
After prayerful consideration, the SCPC nominating committee is pleased to report that they have recommended a Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) to begin the search for a new installed pastor. The slate for the PNC will be presented for approval at a Congregational meeting on date February 26, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., after which they can begin their search. The recently completed "Self-study" report will guide the PNC to choose the best person to lead our church forward.
As the church nominating committee assembled this group, the members were very grateful for the over 60 recommendations that were submitted for consideration. Sorting through the names of the many talented and willing to serve members proved to be a wonderful challenge, and they believe that the group that is being recommended represents a balance of representatives from all areas of the church.
Please keep the members of the newly formed PNC in your prayers an they begin the challenging and arduous search for a new pastor.
Click here to see the proposed By-Laws with changes -- a few hard copies are on the back tables in the Sanctuary.
You can still view the Report of the Self-Study Commitee on the news and events page.

"Simple Living" Blog! Simple Living isn't just a concept to help us save money and time, it's also a practice that can help us be more aware of God's presence in our lives, and in the world. You are invited to join this on-line conversation, as a listener and/or sharing your own thoughts, as we explore the ways that God is calling us to practice simplicity - with our time, energy, resources, money, eating, etc! It's a simple process - go to the website, "follow the conversation" and then you will receive an email each time a new post is created (2-4/month). You can "comment" on the post so that we can learn from one another, asking questions and sharing your ideas. Let's help each other simplify our living!

Sunday Notes:
Welcome Desk: Be sure to stop by the Welcome Desk on Sunday mornings (just outside the church office). A volunteer is available there to answer any questions you may have about the church and its programs. You can also receive parking vouchers on the Sundays that the Beaver Ave. parking garage charges to park.
Greeters: Every Sunday, greeters are at our main entrances to greet and welcome first time visitors as well as long time members. Please let us know if you would like to participate in this ministry.
Pew Pads: Be sure to sign the pew pads as they are passed during worship on Sunday mornings. This allows us to welcome guests and provide information on how to become a member for those interested.
Name Tags: When people become new members of our church we provide them with a name tag. Name tags are also available for purchase for a small fee and you can find Name Tag Order Envelopes in the pew racks or in the literature racks at the rear of the Sanctuary. We encourage everyone to wear their nametags each Sunday.
Prayer Points:
Please prayerfully consider our weekly prayer point during the next week....
Recall the music on Sunday morning. Does a certain melody or a phrase stick in your mind? Is there an instrument that speaks to you? Can you be still and listen for God's beauty expressed in the music?
