Becoming a Member
A New Member Class is held four times per year for those who would like to join the congregation of State College Presbyterian Church. All new members join SCPC through the New Member Class. The classes are held for four consecutive Sundays with formal recognition by the congregation on the fourth Sunday during the worship services. Class participants have the opportunity to meet the program staff, hear about Presbyterian doctrine from the pastors, and learn about the work of several of the Ministry Units of Session and representatives from relevant programs of the church.
Classes meet for three Sundays in the Martin Room (Room 104) from 10:15-11:00 am during the program year. An abbreviated series of classes meets for two Sundays immediately following the single worship service in the summer, 11:15 - 12:30 pm. Dates and times are also announced in the Sunday Bulletin.
