From our Campus Minister, Diana Malcom
I have just finished my eleventh year at State College Presbyterian Church as the Associate in Ministry for Campus Ministry. My work before being here has been with the church in Camp Ministry (Presbytery of Greater Atlanta and Scioto Valley, in Columbus). I went to college at Lock Haven University , and received Master's degrees from PSU (Rec/Park) and Columbia Theological Seminary.
I love that our ministry is centered around fellowship and outreach. Like Christ's own community with his disciples, we eat around table together often and discourse about where we see God in the world and how we understand God to be at work. It is such a good challenge to struggle alongside our college students to consider theology for our lives, the church, this campus and the larger world as we grow in faith individually and collectively. The WPF community is a safe and encouraging place to ask questions and delve deeper.
At our Thursday night Dinner & Fellowship, which is really the premier weekly event where our larger group meets, we gather to pray; share a home-cooked meal; hear what is happening at WPF and in each others lives; enjoy a quality/well-planned program presented by students or myself; and conclude with a group prayer and song. These gatherings help create a community that wants to spend more time with each other in mission, doing special events, traveling and spontaneous gatherings. WPF is a place where each of us is reminded who and whose we are.
College is a time of exploration and growth, and we all know there are many things to dabble in here at PSU. Campus ministry is a great place to explore what is going on in your own faith journey, have fun with your peers, and do some good in God's world. I am so grateful that WPF gives our PSU students a safe, welcoming place to connect and continue to grow into the fullness that God has called them to . As our motto says, we are a "Space for Grace...All are Welcome." So stop on by and introduce yourself or come by for a Thursday night meal. I would love to meet you
Grace and Peace,
Diana Malcom

Join Westminster Presbyterian Fellowship Listserve
This listserve is solely used for the purpose of providing you with weekly information about WPF and SCPC events/ministry for college students in the Penn State Community. We do NOT share your email or name with other organizations. Just go to WPF Listserve to sign up.
A new and fun group has evolved here at SCPC. If you're someone who is looking to spend time with other young adults -- it's for you. What's a "young adult," you wonder? The answer to that is really up to those who attend. Possible definitions might include:
-- Grad student or Post Doc
-- Someone graduated from college with a job (or not)
-- Single- Married --- with or without children
-- Twenty to Thirty-Something
What these gatherings offer is friendly conversation about issues of faith and life -- and casual fellowship:
1. Theology unTapped at Ottos every 1st Monday at 7:00 pm -- gather with other young adults for refreshment and some conversation, remembering God in our day together.
2. Young Adult Lunch every 3rd Sunday during the Fall and Spring Semesters at 12:30 pm -- following the second worship service in the Fireside Room
